Down East Baptist Church is a Bible believing, Bible preaching, Independent Baptist church. We believe that Christ is to have the preeminence in all things, and that we’ve been commanded to love Him, and to love our neighbor. The Bible is our final authority in all matters of faith and practice.
Down East Baptist Church was planted in March of 2019 by the Pastor, Scott Sherrod. A burden was placed on his heart to plant a church in Eastern NC, and as he continued to pray on it, things began to fall in place over the following months. In June of 2019 the first service was held at the original location of DEBC in Pinetops, NC. The church continued to grow, and had to move to a larger space, our current building, where we hope to continue to grow even more.
Along with our three weekly services, we also have monthly ladies and men’s fellowship times. We offer youth group for ages 5-18 years old at our Wednesday night services. Children’s church for kids under 5 is available on Sunday mornings. Keep an eye out for different events we have for the community throughout the year!
