Disaster Relief
DEBC has joined forces with Hearts with Hands Ministries out of Asheville, NC to respond to natural disasters and their victims all over the country. We want to be the hands and feet of Jesus in the aftermath of these terrible events.
Radio Ministry
Every week on Sunday at 8:00am, preachers from DEBC bring a message live on the air on 98.5 the Big DAWG in eastern NC. This is an outreach ministry, and has yielded much fruit over the years in reaching out to our community with the message of the Gospel. If you miss it live, check out our facebook page or sermons page to listen to it now!
DEBC Preachers
At Down East, we are actively training and preparing preachers that God has called out of our congregation. These preachers are available for pulpit supply, revivals, evangelistic meetings, youth rallies, etc. It is our prayer and hope that God will build upon their training, and use them to further the gospel in whatever capacity they are called to.

Operation Christmas Child
DEBC has packed and provided hundreds of shoeboxes to be sent all over the world through the ministry of Operation Christmas Child.
Hospitality Ministry
It is our sincere belief that the church bears the responsibility of hospitality within our community, especially in times of grief and great need. We put this into action through the providing meals in times of need, financial assistance, as well as our yearly community events.
AWANA
We started the AWANA ministry in January of 2023, and are excited to see our youth excited about learning about Jesus. Along with a weekly lesson, kids are given a verse each week to memorize. We pray this program will be a blessing to our youth, and help them become closer to God. Our toddler class for “cubbies” is held on Sunday mornings during children’s church. On Wednesday nights, we have classes for ages 5-18. Class placement is based on grade during the 22-23 school year (Sparks for K-2nd grade, T&T for 3rd-6th grade, Trek for middle school, and Journey for high school).
Fresh Starters
Twice a month, DEBC opens the doors of the church to prospective members through our Fresh Starters class. This class is designed to help prospective members make an informed decision about joining together with this body of believers, by teaching them the basic doctrinal beliefs and operation procedures of DEBC.
Continue
The Continue class is a biblical journey in personal discipleship. This class, designed by pastor Paul Chappell, is a 14 week journey through the Scriptures, which will enable a believer to become more active and functional in their personal walk with Christ.
